Australia FX Market Update, 2 February 2012

From the US the ADP Non-Farm Employment number did not give much joy, coming in at 170k versus expectations at 189k. The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) showed continued expansion albeit below the expected figure.  Read More…

Australian FX Update, 31 January 2012

Yesterday Germany released its Preliminary CPI, right on expectations. Overnight from the US Personal Spending and a measure of inflation did not surprise although spending did come at 0 versus expectations which was at 0.2% so not that far off.  Read More…

Analysis: AUD/USD, October 2011

The Deliberation Candlestick pattern is a chart formation consisting of three consecutive candlesticks on a daily, minute-by-minute or hour-by-hour chart. The three candles are white in colour and each successive candlestick opens at the previous candle’s close. The first two candles have long, real bodies while the third candle is short, and there are no restrictions placed on upper or lower shadows. Deliberation formations are considered to be bearish reversals but tend to behave more like bullish continuation patterns.  Read More…
